British Engineer Busted for Drink-Driving a... Toy Barbie Car

Ah, to be 40-year-old Paul Hutton. His story is something I'd make up at a party just for fun, only with good ol' Paul, it's a cold, hard reality. You see, Paul is a former RAF aeronautical engineer who was recently busted for drink-driving in Essex in a... Barbie Power Wheels (or something close). In the words of the internet, EPIC WIN.

Other than admitting to being a "complete twit", Paul added, "You have to be a contortionist to get in, and then you can't get out." He isn't just any twit, either.

Paul's a car twit, meaning he couldn't leave the Barbie car well enough alone in stock form. "Originally it was a pink Barbie car but I put bigger wheels on it but it's not fast...It was a little project I was doing with my son who is doing a car mechanics course. When it was done I couldn't resist the temptation to take it out."

For being highly irresponsible behind the wheel of a toy car, Paul's punishments include: a 3-year driving ban due to the fact that he has been DWI'd before, a 12-month "conditional discharge", and an £85 fine (for court fees).

Even Neil Munson (chairman of the bench) said it was weird: "This is most unusual. I have never seen the like of it in 15 years on the bench. The vehicle is not even capable of doing the speed of a mobility scooter and could be outrun by a pedestrian."

Paul's little electric buggy has been in the impound, but now that he's out, no doubt he'll try to get it back and hopefully do something about "more power".
