Paris Show: Jaguar C-X75 Concept in the Flesh Plus First Videos

We've already played 'show and tell' with Jaguar's C-X75 Concept (read full details here), but now we've got real live photos from the pre-show media event as well as from the British firm's Paris Motor Show stand, plus a trio of videos including one from last night's presentation.

As a refresher, the concept model is powered by four 195HP-strong electric motors, one for each wheel producing a total of 780-horsepower and a mind-blowing 1600Nm (1180lb ft) of peak torque. The car also gets two micro gas-turbines spinning at 80,000 rpm, with Jaguar claiming they can generate enough electricity to extend the driving range to a 560 miles.

The C-X75 can accelerate from standstill to 100km/h (62mph) in just 3,4 seconds and is capable of reaching a top speed of 330km/h (205mph).

Although Jaguar says the C-X75 is a pure design study created to celebrate 75 years of the marque and provide a glimpse into the design future of the firm, insiders claims there's a strong possibility we may see the car inspiring a production model.

The all-new 2010 Jaguar XJ will be officially launched this Thursday, 9th July at a special event at the Saatchi Gallery in London. The glitzy presentation will be performed by former late-night TV talk-show host and car aficionado, Jay Leno who will be joined by Mike O'Driscoll, Managing Director at Jaguar Cars. You can watch the unveiling of the British firm's all-new luxury saloon live here on Carscoop through a streaming video that we will upload on our site that day.

As a refresher, the new XJ will be Jaguar's first car to feature the next-generation of its aerospace-inspired aluminium body architecture with powertrain options including the firm's latest V6 diesel and V8 gasoline engines.

Jag's BMW 7-Series fighting model, which is expected to feature a modern design partially inspired from the smaller XF, will be in dealerships from the end of this year.

2010 Jaguar XJ Teaser Film No5: The Interior

We can't blame you if you've lost interest in Jaguar's teaser videos on the upcoming 2010 XJ as the British firm hasn't really revealed anything interesting on its new luxury sedan in any of the films. Same goes for the latest video that features Jaguar's chief designer, Ian Callum vaguely talking about the new interior while we also get a quick glimpse of the XJ's front headrests, but that's about it. Watch the video after the jump and stay tuned on Carscoop as Jag's flagship model will be officially launched on Thursday, July 9.

Video: Jaguar's BMW M5 Rival, the new 2010 XFR V8 with 510HP

The XF we've all been waiting for, the new supercharged XFR, was finally revealed at this week's Detroit Show. Fitted with Jag's new direct-injection 5.0-liter V8 and a Roots-type supercharger, the 510-horsepower strong XFR goes from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds, or 0.2 and 0.4 seconds slower than its arch rivals, the BMW M5 and Audi RS6 respectively. If you hit the jump, you can watch the XFR in Jag's new promotional video. Unfortunately, for reasons that we fail to understand, Jaguar did not include any audiobites from the XFR's supercharged V8 engine, which is a pity as other than that, the film is overall entertaining.

Video: Jaguar XFR Prototype tops 225 mph at Bonneville Salt Flats

At the Detroit Show, Jaguar revealed a specially modified XFR prototype that recorded a top speed of 225.7 mph (363.2 km/h) during a secret speed trial at the iconic Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah last November. The XFR prototype beat Jaguar's previous speed record of 217.1mph (349.4 km/h) that had been set back in 1992 by the XJ220. The man behind the wheel of the fastest Jag ever was Paul Gentilozzi, owner of Rocketsports Racing who led the Jaguar XKR to five series victories between 2001 and 2006 in the Trans Am series in the USA.

Jaguar said that prototype model was equipped with a slightly more powerful version of the standard XFR's 5.0-liter V8 with additional horsepower being liberated by a remapped ECU, a modified air intake and exhaust system and revised supercharger settings. It was also fitted with minor aerodynamic and safety modifications that were made to meet the requirements for a Bonneville run. According to the British automaker, no internal engine components were changed and the six-speed automatic transmission was standard, including the gear ratios.

Video: 2010 Jaguar XF-R Powersliding at Goodwood Festival

A pre-production version of Jaguar's answer to the Audi RS6 and BMW M5 made an unexpected appearance at last weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed. Luckily for us, a couple of quick-handed spectators managed to film the XF-R in action. Sources state that Jag's new high-performance sport saloon will be powered by a new direct injection, supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine delivering something north of 500 Hp. You can also see a picture of the 2010 Jaguar XF-R here. -Videos after the jump

2008 Jaguar XF Video: Driving & Interviews

Sometimes, seeing a car “live” in video may change you’re perspective about its design. That’s definitely not the case with Jag’s new mid-size saloon; on the contrary, we liked the 2008 XF even more. Of course, some may support that they’re hugely disappointed as they were expecting more of a C-XF than a… XF but you can have everybody happy. Check out the video and tell us what you think. Did it change your opinion in any way?
